We facilitated and participated in a high-level consultative security meeting convened by the cabinet secretary for Interior Kipchumba Murkomen, bringing together conservancies from Laikipia, Marsabit, Isiolo, Samburu, Baringo and Meru Counties to deliberate on ways to strengthen coordinated responses to insecurity across northern Kenya.
The meeting discussed the ongoing security operation in Laikipia North, following insecurity in the area. The meeting also discussed equipping and deployment of National Police Reservists in underserved areas and strengthening collaboration between county security teams and private conservancies to enhance surveillance and intelligence sharing.
The government through the CS announced plans to prioritize opening and maintenance of security roads in the sub-county, to improve rapid response and patrol coverage.
The Cabinet Secretary had earlier in February 2026 visited Naibunga Upper Conservancy which had been affected by bandit attacks, and pronounced a security operation aimed at flushing out bandits from their hideouts within Mukogodo Forest and extending to neighboring Isiolo County.
