Laikipia Conservancies Association (LCA) played a central role at the Laikipia Economic and Investment Conference held on August 1, 2025, at the Nyahururu Country Club, under the theme "Unlocking Laikipia Economic Potential – Investment for Inclusive Growth."

LCA CEO Delivers Keynote on Wildlife Economy

LCA’s CEO, Peter Matunge, delivered a compelling keynote presentation focused on the wildlife economy as a transformative pillar of Laikipia’s economic landscape. Speaking alongside top national and county leaders including Kenya Investment Authority CEO John Mwendwa and KRA Chairman Hon. Ndiritu Muriithi; Matunge emphasized the role of conservation in catalyzing tourism, sustainable development, and community enterprise.

A Platform for Partnerships and Opportunities

The one-day conference brought together stakeholders from across Laikipia and beyond to explore investment opportunities in tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, ICT, and infrastructure. Participants included private sector players, government agencies, cooperatives, and innovation-driven enterprises.

LCA also moderated the Tourism and Conservation breakout session, bringing key players such as Panari Resort, Breeze Hotel, and Club Choices into dialogue on investment priorities and challenges in the sector.

LCA Members Featured Among Exhibitors

The exhibition area showcased diverse ventures from across Laikipia. LCA members Lekuruki Community Conservancy and the Mukogodo Forest CFA were among the featured exhibitors, presenting community-led models of conservation and nature-based enterprise.

The event reinforced the importance of placing nature at the heart of economic planning, while building stronger partnerships between investors, local communities, and conservation actors.
