LCA Data Hub: Driving Better Decision-Making Through Shared Data

LCA is making great strides in the development of its Data Hub Dashboard, a central platform designed to consolidate and streamline information from member conservancies and other key stakeholders. This will enable evidence-based decision-making, improve forecasting, and strengthen communication of conservation impact across the Laikipia landscape.

Key Progress Highlights

  • MoUs Signed: 22 conservancies (exceeding the target of 19)

  • Data Digitization: 22 out of 31 conservancies now digitizing data via Google Forms

  • Data Streaming: 19 out of 17 ( Target exceeded) conservancies successfully linked to the EarthRanger Hub

  • Platform Integration: SMART data now syncing seamlessly with EarthRanger

  • Dashboard Development: Esri licenses secured, with development underway

Why the Data Hub Matters

The LCA Data Hub is not just a technical tool; it is a landscape-wide resource that integrates environmental, social, and economic data. Its purpose is to:

  • Support landscape decision-making and planning

  • Enable research coordination across conservancies and partners

  • Strengthen monitoring, evaluation, and intervention strategies

  • Influence policy development at county and national levels

  • Communicate and amplify conservation impact

  • Provide evidence for resource mobilization efforts
