LCA Holds Annual General Meeting at Mpala Research Centre

LCA held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Mpala Research Centre, River Camp on 29th August, 2025. The event brought together member conservancies, partners, and key stakeholders to reflect on progress and chart the way forward for the Association.

Progress Report Highlights
The LCA Secretariat, led by the CEO, presented the Progress Report, celebrating milestones achieved in the past year across six programmatic areas:
Policy & Advocacy
Rangeland, Connectivity & Habitat Restoration
Conservancies Governance & Institutional Development
Resilient Livelihood Projects
Peace and Security
Conservancies Financial Sustainability
Strengthening Inclusivity
Members unanimously adopted a constitutional amendment to establish a Women & Youth Caucus, a milestone in ensuring inclusivity and youth leadership within the Association.
Another key highlight: the presentation and validation of the LCA Strategic Plan 2025–2029, set to be finalized and launched soon to guide collective efforts in the coming years.
Government Commitment
We were honored to welcome H.E. Joshua Irungu, EGH, Governor of Laikipia County, accompanied by his senior team.
The Governor reaffirmed the strong partnership between LCA and the County Government.
He further called for a meeting on September 9, 2025, to deliberate on three critical bills:
Laikipia County Wildlife Conservation & Management Bill
Finance Bill
Rangeland Bill
