Purpose of IMET:

The IMET tool will help Naibunga Upper Conservancy:

  • Improve ecological representation

  • Strengthen connectivity and governance

  • Promote sustainable use and conservation outcomes

  • Uphold the rights of Indigenous Peoples and local communities

Assessment Structure:

The tool evaluates conservation effectiveness through three main modules:

  1. Intervention Context

  2. Management Evaluation

  3. Analysis & Reporting

By applying this framework, the conservancy will be able to track progress, enhance accountability, and foster transparency, contributing to stronger conservation standards and outcomes in the Laikipia landscape.
